Purple Fever

Hello! Just an update to let you all know what's been happening inside our studio this summer.

Inside the production studio for The Tots I also teach sewing lessons to children which is called Hingham Sewing School. I have been working on redesigning my studio after the last cupcakes were enjoyed with my campers. It was time to get organized. I'll post pictures once the renovation is complete! I had some accent walls painted purple, moved around the furniture, purchased new furniture, new fabrics (of coarse) and have been working away to make the flow better for fall students as well as producing new Tots inventory! You will see a big purple influence this fall, which I am sure I'll continue on through the Spring in beautiful floral patterns. I am feeling more colorful lately so who knows where that will take me.....

Our 3rd Anniversary sale will coincide with the release of an all new product line the date TBA. I am very excited to show you the fun, unique gift baskets for baby that we have designed. It may take us a little longer than expected, the kids just went back to school this week, and I will be getting back into the swing of things.

Here in the studio we've been busy little bees! I've been working on custom corporate baby gifts, sorting new inventory for a fall overhaul on the The Tots website and we have two weeks of sewing camp down! With the 4th of July coming up one student make a whole Americana inspired outfit. I'll post the pictures soon, you won't believe how great it is. Looks store bought!

We have had great success with our sewing school so we will be referring you to a new website dedicated to it later this summer! There are only a few weeks of camp on the schedule after the holiday with even less open spots so if you are interested in getting a budding fashionista in the studio send us an e-mail.

While adults take their yoga to the mat the kids and I will be creating yoga inspired art/fashion tote bags with paint and fabric applique in their teepee on the beautiful and private landscape of the exclusive retreat setting of this hidden gem. Sewing School for Kids

Happy New Year Everyone! In addition to our popular baby and initial t-shirt line we are now offering sewing lessons in our design studio for children ages 6 through 14. Having children assist in the design process of their own clothes was such a rewarding experience for me this year. It inspired me to teach them how to execute their own creativity and unleash the designer within!

Classes are being held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays starting Feb. 1st. The classes will run in 5 week sessions with all materials included. They do not need to know how to sew! Workshops are also a great choice for trying it out, in additional to enrollment and for students in surrounding towns.

Fall Inspiration

September is already here, I can't believe it. We just wrapped the beach series with celebrity and family portrait lifestyle photographer Kerry Brett. It was amazing to get to style the shoots and design the clothes for all of the beautiful children. We are looking forward to possibly bringing it back for Fall. After a very relaxing Labor Day I returned home from the beach very inspired. I have a special place in my heart for fall. I love to layer Fall clothes, the colors, accessories, the slight chill in the air. To me Fall is what fashion is all about. Strangely enough I also think of back-to-school time as a clean slate. A new beginning. Everyone is getting ready for something, and rushing to do it. I am no exception. I have begun cleaning my design studio to get ready for our Anniversary Sale. I have Fall and Winter trunk shows already lined up as well as some exciting designs on the mind for my portfolio collection.

I am so grateful I get to express myself through design. I love to meet new people. It warms me when I get the amazing feedback (which we'll try to get up on the site soon) and witness the delight my designs have on children when I meet them at a show or see them out and about. There is nothing better than that feeling of designing an outfit that is treasured by a child. To wear it over and over again, in the constant rotation or the very special event. I am so lucky. Thank you all for your continued support, it means so much to me.

Craft Hope

This adorable blog called Craft Hope calls on all crafters, designers and the like to create projects for donation in various countries for children in need. Project 7 is a donation of handmade learning tools for children in Liberia. Don't you remember just how fun bean bags are? What a great learning tool! Crafters all around the globe are working hard to create bean bag sets to help children learn their shapes, colors, numbers and alphabets. We're in! With just under 2 weeks left on the deadline (may15th) we'll be creating a set or two this week!

One is a local school whom I adore, Wilder Memorial Nursery School. The other donation is a fundraiser for a local family who lost their child at only 3 years young. Easter already? Yes! I was out in the stores today picking up crafts for the kids and I was inspired to start the easter collection. My model, not so cooperative! She did love her shirt though, and did not want to take it off to eat her pasta dinner. So it's a winner! I hope to be able to get better pictures of the collection as I design it. There will be 3 designs to choose from. It will be a telephone order item due to the short window of the holiday (and my upcoming vacation). ROAR...It's Dinosaur Week

Mini Trunk Show at Mama's Move

Today we had the opportunity to showcase our bestsellers at Mama's Move in Norwell to benefit Haiti.
This amazing fundraising event was arranged by Hingham Helps Haiti and hosted by Mama's Move. The very popular children's singer Mama Steph was there as well, she also donated her time to the cause! There was an impressive turnout of moms and their children! We donated 20% of all sales from the event to be donated through The American Red Cross.

We are now accepting telephone orders for your custom orders! I always have a ton of things in my studio that haven't quite made it to our website and or trunk shows! I stash and horde fabric sometimes for years! Then I finally become inspired and create the perfect baby girl gift set, rare monkey blanket or one of a kind outfit for your little girl. Over the next few weeks I will be "destashing" and creating some limited edition, one of a kind outfits and unique baby gifts! Some designs will make it to the site and other will just be posted here and you can contact us. We accept Mastercard, Visa and Discover for your telephone orders. If you would rather pay by paypal we can invoice you direct.

We had a great turnout at our Trunk Show! Most importantly we got orders for the Boston Mama's Have a Heart for Haiti Campaign! A big thank you to all who purchased our Heart Initial Collection created for this campaign. We added new styles and colors that we will post shortly on the site. There will be some sneak peak pics coming right before the show! I have made some skirts out of Lily Pulitzer fabric, some bright florals, crazy monster t-shirts for the boys and new baby gifts for the little ones in your life! And more... I'll be designing right up until the show because so I never know what I'm going to make! Some items I will have in stock and some will be custom order. Everything is a limited edition.
